| Food Marketing, Associate Level, is a
role-play event. The student is given a description of a specific situation
that measures skills, knowledge and attitudes in food marketing. Students
will be challenged to perform marketing functions and tasks resulting in
retail establishments, wholesale establishments and manufacturing firms
resulting in the sale of food. Roles in these events are those of customers,
employees, supervisors, managers and entrepreneurs.
The student studies the situation for 10-minutes and responds to the issues involved through interaction with a business/industry professional (judge). The role of the student and of the judge will be determined by the specific role-play situation. Preliminary round competition includes one comprehensive exam and one role-play.
