Restaurant and Food Service Management

 
Restaurant and Food Service Management is a role-play event. The student is given a description of a specific situation that measures skills, knowledge and attitudes in restaurant and food service management. Students will be challenged to perform marketing and management functions and tasks in a full-service restaurant or a food-service business. Roles in these events are those of supervisors, managers and entrepreneurs.

The student studies the situation for 10-minutes and responds to the issues involved through interaction with a business/industry professional (judge). The role of the student and of the judge will be determined by the specific role-play situation.

Preliminary round competition includes one comprehensive exam and one role-plays. A second role-play activity will be given to finalists.
